The Maropeng Boutique Hotel recently hosted a royal delegation from Thailand for lunch. Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn visited the Maropeng Visitor Centre on Friday October 7 for a tour around the award-winning attraction. The tour ended with a delicious light lunch at the hotel.

The tour was organised by the Thai embassy and South Africa. A special menu was requested, which the Maropeng team put together in no time.

Upon arrival the guests were served welcome drinks on the cosy hotel terrace. They enjoyed some iconic South Africa snacks such as biltong and dry wors, after which a light lunch was served, which included butternut and sweet potato soup and chicken and vegetable stir-fry wraps. The lunch was finished off with a classic malva pudding and custard.

Conferencing and Events Executive Trudie Delport says that organising a tour and lunch for such an important delegation was very exciting, “It was amazing to meet the princess in person, and feedback from the delegation was that they had a wonderful time.”
