The statue of palaeontologist Dr Robert Broom, situated outside the Sterkfontein Caves, shows him holding a fossilised skull.
Dr Broom made many discoveries of our hominid ancestors and is well-known for his discovery of Australopithecus africanus, better known as Mrs Ples.
