Christian Progressive College visits Maropeng

There were whoops of joy from more than 100 young learners as they descended on Maropeng for the experience of a lifetime.

Christian Progressive College (CPC) recently took advantage of a special discount Maropeng offered on Future Ed – The Education Show earlier this year. Through the special, two learners received free entry for every 10 learners paid for.

Maropeng Education and Marketing Executive Magel van de Venter says that offering this discount provided Maropeng an opportunity to engage directly with one of its main target markets, and to gauge the response to its marketing efforts. “This special also allowed us to measure the impact we had at the Future Ed show.”

The college also benefited a great deal from this offer, says CPC primary school educator Nelia van der Westhuizen. “Being able to visit using this discount was a huge help for us as many of our learners come from disadvantaged areas.”

She adds that the 138 learners loved the tour. “They found it very exciting and really enjoyed the boat ride.”

The learners, aged between seven and 15 years, smiled from beginning to end and enjoyed every minute, according to Dorcas Tshabalala, Maropeng education reservationist, who accompanied the learners on their tour. “It felt so great to see their happy faces and they looked so fulfilled.”
