Picnicking Maropeng style

The seemingly endless South African summer is still with us and the days are long, beautiful and begging for a picnic in the Cradle of Humankind.

To make your experience that much more relaxing, why not leave the catering in our hands? Book your picnic basket online before 12pm the day before you plan to arrive at Maropeng and choose from one of three options available to you. Please note, however, that picnic baskets for weekends should be booked before 12pm the Friday before.

Our offerings cater for two people and the three decadent options are as follows:

Mrs Ples

Our Mrs Ples option includes meatballs, pork ribs, BBQ chicken wings, pasta salad, Greek salad, French baguettes, fresh fruit, carrot cupcakes, a cheese platter, mixed nuts, crisps and chocolate bars.

Little Foot

The Little Foot bag comprises chicken sliders, pork ribs, mini hot dogs, French baguettes, pretzels, fresh fruit, a cheese platter, biltong shavings, dry sausage, carrot cupcakes, mini jelly tots and chocolate bars.

Karabo (vegetarian)

The Karabo option, which is vegetarian, includes vegetable tortilla wraps, a spinach and feta quiche, potato salad, Greek salad, French baguettes, fresh fruit, carrot cupcakes, a cheese platter, dried fruits, mixed nuts and chocolate bars.
